After a 26-year hiatus, motorik noise merchants Prolapse returned with a new single ‘On the Quarter Days’ released on March 25th, 2025, through Tapete Records. The single marked a significant return for the band known for their combative lead singers who compete to see who can be heard the loudest over the pounding backline.

Prolapse’s new single is a bitter love story borne out of frustration where everything is worth nothing. In the very olden days, the nearest you could get to nothing was to pay a peppercorn rent - a nominal sum. This was a symbolic act which was often paid on the quarter days - 4 days a year when you could sign a binding contract without giving anything away. Prolapse release their new single on the first of these days (Lady Day) and we hope that this little something will help you block out all the nothing flying around.

Mick Derrick describes the new single as the sound of your neighbours arguing while turning up their stereo full blast. If you know Prolapse from before you’ll already know what that means. If not come in, put a glass against the wall and listen.
