There’s not many DJs play here that we make sure are booked for another night before they leave the building, but Phil Kieran is something special. His debut gig here back in February was one of the most unique, mindblowing and flat-out genius sets McChuills has ever seen, hence us going through the diary while he was still playing. So, once again alongside our comrades Manifesto of Bliss, we are bringing the great man back to the Acid Arch at the start of August.

Belfast-born and raised, Phil is an internationally-respected DJ, producer and screen composer, who is currently spotlighting his Le Carousel alias after a 10-year hiatus with his new album The Humans Will Destroy Us.

A mature, multi-layered record full of sparkling synths, gauzy vocals, languid beats and hypnotic pulsing heartache and hope, THWDU is a concept album that contemplates the nature of humankind, cruising between the club and the cosmos. Its launch is completed by remixes from contemporaries Curses, David Holmes and ALFOS co-founder Sean Johnston.

As a producer, Kieran has released a long string of revered techno 12”s on labels like Soma Records, Skint, Novamute and Cocoon, before founding his own imprint Phil Kieran Recordings (PKR). He has collaborated with artists such as Green Velvet, Nitzer Ebb’s Douglas J. McCarthy, Jochem “Speedy J” Paap and The Bush Tetras. His next collaboration, set for release in 2026 is with Roman Flüegel.

Phil’s extensive roll call of remixes includes the likes of Arthur Baker, Depeche Mode, DJ Hell, Inner City, David Holmes, Nitzer Ebb, Agoria, UNKLE and Andrew Weatherall.

Anyone who was here in February will tell you how incredible he was, but if you weren’t there, you absolutely need to make this one. Trust us, it’s going to be something else.
