Gaerea are a Portuguese black metal band, widely recognized for playing a modern, atmospheric, and emotionally charged style often described as post-black metal, or post-black metal. Formed in 2016, they blend intense, fast-paced black metal with elements of sludge, hardcore, and a deep sense of despair, focusing on themes of the void, narcissism, and mental numbness.
