Another weighty addition to his already-formidable canon of satirical writing (The Day Today, Brass-eye, Time Trumpet, The Thick Of It and more), Scottish enfante terrible Armando Iannucci’s 2009 feature-adaptation of the aforementioned UK political series was one of the cinematic highlights of that year.
Ruthlessly satirising Anglo-American political wranglings around a proposed military incursion, the film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to widespread praise, from the writing to the performances, and was eventually nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2010.
A Badge of Friendship will present the screening along with a special video feature where Mr Iannucci answers questions submitted to him by the Restless Natives audience.
