THE COSMIC DEAD are an amorphous blob of space rock energy hailing from Glasgow, Scotland. Their exploratory compositions often reach levels of sonic destruction through reflective repetition and visceral harmony.
The band has taken many forms since forming in 2010 and has been declared 'The loudest psychedelic rock band on the planet." by legendary compere Kozmik Ken. At the base of the current sonic obliteration team is a rhythm section of Tommy Duffin and Omar Aborida, a thunderous and cohesive unit which is then further propelled into the outer realms by Luigi Pasquini providing frantic italo synthesized electronics along with Calum Calderwood's mind bending, sky-shattering fiddle acrobatics.

Hibushibire return after a long break, with a new line up and a stunning third album. Following the successes of their debut album Freak Out Orgasm! (2017), the follow up Turn On, Tune In, Freak Out (2019) and two very well received UK tours, the band headed home to Osaka, Japan and then, the pandemic hit. During this downtime, guitarist/vocalist Changchang decided to create a new power trio. Enter Tetsuji Toyoda (bass/vocals) and Aoi Hama (drums/vocals). Now finally, Hibushibire mark two is born properly. Entering the studio with Acid Mothers Temple/Mainliner guru Makoto Kawabata in the producer chair (and also as a guest musician) once again, the band recorded album number three, Magical Metamorphosis Third Eye. Makoto also adds some of his own trademark guitar howls throughout the album, perfectly complimenting Changchang's own growing prowess. Like the band's first two albums, Magical Metamorphosis Third Eye is very much an album of two halves. Side one again is full of killer shorter tracks, while side two is reserved for a blinding majestic 20-minute epic "Ayahuasca Witch Abduction." Perhaps the biggest musical surprise here though is probably track two, the beautifully mellow tripped out "We Won't Go Back To The Past," which sounds like it's been beamed straight out of the late '60s/early '70s. The band also tip a nod to the Beatles psychedelic classic "Tomorrow Never Ever Knows," but with their own twist of course. It's clear with the line-up changes, Changchang has decided to expand the bands musical pathway, and he's achieving stunning results.
“Black Helium is a three-piece psychedelic rock band based in London. Never afraid to stray from the beaten path, Stuart Gray, Beck Harvey, and Diogo Gomes fearlessly traverse aural hallucinatory soundscapes, from detuned Neanderthal rock to deep oceans of introspective blissed-out psych.”
On their first two albums, Primitive Fuck (2018) and The Wholly Other (2020), Black Helium displays a fine knowledge of how to blend krautrock, psychedelic, stoner, rock, and drone in a convincing way. Songs like “Two Masters” and “Death Station of the Goddess” from Wholly Other are perfect examples of the depth that Black Helium has to offer, as are “Drowsy Shores” and “Love the Drugs You Make Me Feel Like I’m On” from the Primitive Fuck album.
