Sex Gang Children
SATURDAY 4TH MAY 2019
Brixton 1981, as London smouldered in the burning embers of punk rock, a phoenix rose that was to be a genuine warrior, not a slave.
Sex Gang Children were to become an inspiration for an alternative generation.
By the middle of 1982 the band's first single ‘Beasts’ topped the UK indie charts, subsequently staying within the top 20 for the next 18 months. Their seminal album Song and Legend followed soon after, cementing the band’s credentials worldwide.
Gaining a reputation as 'the band that doesn't compromise', they attracted musical luminaries such as Marc Almond (Soft Cell), Tony James (Generation X, Sigue Sigue Sputnik), Mick Ronson (Bowie, Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, Prince), Leo Abrahams (Eno, Brian Ferry) and film composer Simon Boswell (Hardware, Andrea Bocelli).
Over 30 years have passed and now, in 2019, they take to the road again with their ‘Electric Jezebel’ tour, performing up close and personal in venues that transport fans back to a time when music mattered. The band will perform their iconic ‘Song and Legend’ album.
