Formed in Falkirk in 2008, the Media Whores release their fourth studio album, 'A Light In A Dark Place' (2023) and their fifth, including a 18 track compilation 'A Decade Of Defiance', following on from their critically acclaimed and mercury prize listed 'Dangerous Minds' (2016) ALIADP sees a wide range of lyrical topics tackled such as, against the rise of the right and fascism (Sufferers and Albert Finney), capitalism and consumerism (Money and Consumerism Is The King), terrorism (Red), global geo-politics (Cold War and Cruel Britannia), road trips to Blackpool (Las Vegas of the North) and Amsterdam (The Bulldog Bites Back) – a bad trip! Also for the lovers and romantics out there, of sorts! (Colouring In and It's Not Alright).
Reviewers describe the Media Whores as punk, post-punk, alternative, with hooks, melodies and politically shrewd lyrics - a band with something to say, who should be listened to!
Their chum, Captain Sensible of the Damned, whom the band have played with several times, says of the Media Whores, ‘I love their take on politics, all wrapped up in a catchy tune!’
