Christmas SKAvaganza - Night Boat to Glasgow
WEDNESDAY 28TH DECEMBER 2022
Doors 7.00pm
£10.00
A live line-up offering three sets of knees-in-the-air rockin’ ska - great news for Glasgow’s 2-Tone army, but hellishly hard on any dancefloor other than the hydraulically cushioned pit of The Ferry, tied up on the north bank of the Clyde, in the shadow of the Kingston Bridge.
Rock up to the gangway at 7pm on Wednesday 28th December, and if the tide is with us, £10 will let you slip downhill into a sea of Fred Perrys and sweat, as The Dughoose Ska Band kick off the night with a dose of classic covers.
Tradition be damned when Rudebeard hit the stage though. It’s ska, Jim, but straight outta Glenrothes, and all original, with an evil glint in its eye, and an astoundingly foul mouth.
Topping the bill are Glasgow’s own Esperanza, armed with an all-thriller dancefloor-filler set of tunes drawn from their three studio albums, in particular their muscular latest "Better Late Than Never".
If anyone isn’t dancing when ‘Spranza get going, odds-on it’s a polis wondering where all the crowd’s energy is coming from.
Three bands...one big boatload of ska. All aboard!
