FRIDAY 23RD MAY 2014
The Sunshine Underground,
Mickey 9’s, Brown Bear and The Bandits & Crash Club
The Sunshine Underground are bringing their subterranean light to Glasgow’s Classic Grand on the 23rd of May. They hail from Leeds and this indie rock band fuse punk, indie and electronic music to bring us a sharp, crisp sound that has seen them championed by Radio 1’s Zane Low and the NME. They have played headline sell out tours with the Happy Mondays and LCD Soundsystem and taken part in essential British festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds not to mention Scotlands own T in the Park.
Their sound led them to being one of the original acts to be dubbed ‘nu-rave’ alongside the likes of the Klaxons, who they toured with on the NME New Rave UK tour.
They have so far released two full studio albums, “Raise The Alarm” and “Nobody’s Coming To Save You”, and will be releasing the self titled third album on the 19th May. The Sunshine Underground, is a reinvention of sorts, a refocusing on their first love - electronic music. The overall result is an album nobody would have expected. A clean slate and self-titled purposefully to hit home this feeling of identity, the hard beats and glittering synths mix with The Sunshine Underground's original dance-punk origins to create an almighty collection of contemporary electronic songs.
In support we have Brown Bear & The Bandits, Mickey 9’s, and Crash Club.
This night is going to be an experience, take you on a journey to the outer realms of your mind and gently bring you back home, kiss you softly on the cheek and wave you off into the Glasgow darkness of night. Tickets Available /www.tickets-scotland.com/
