IVAN FERREIRO (Live Acoustic Set) * Please note Venue Change*
WEDNESDAY 17TH DECEMBER 2014
Doors 7.30pm - 10pm curfew
On Sale Monday 19th May
The nasal voice of Iván Ferreiro is, similarly to Rock Sin Subtitulos’ programming, unmistakable and unique. After the smashing success of his first performance in London in 2013, this time Iván will embark on a tour visiting four of the most important European cities – Dublin, Berlin, London and Edinburgh. Four nights of intimate acoustic sets were he will be introducing songs from his latest album ‘Val Miñor-Madrid. Historia y cronología del mundo’ as well as his greatest hits.
Iván’s career began in the early 90s, in his native Galicia when he founded, along with Paco Serén Los Piratas. Despite their young age, they were creating music which received a very warm welcome by both the commercial and the independent audience. Both Ivan and Paco admit to being influenced by bands like Oasis and Radiohead. In 2003, after 13 years together Los Piratas ceased to be.
Iván released his first solo album 2 years later in 2005. It was called ‘Canciones para el tiempo y la distancia’. The music he composed at the same time whilst performing at a local bar in Vigo along with his brother, under the name of Rai y Doriva as Ferreiro. During his long career Iván collaborated with many artists, most notably Bunbury and Pereza.
In 2011 Iván released a compilation album with the best of his solo music as well as the best of Los Piratas.
His concerts are always a little unexpected – he is known to have taken to the stage without his band. But really, is there anybody who has not sung to 'Abrázame' or didn’t fall for 'Mentiroso mentiroso' video?
If you happen to be in Dublin on December, make sure you catch this very special gig, as it will be an indie-pop feast. Rock Sin Subtitulos gives you a chance to finish your year with one of the best Spanish singers of all time!
