The Stripped Sessions w/ Kit Clark
+ special guests
FRIDAY 30TH MAY 2014
Singer/songwriter/musician Kit Clark first came to public attention as founder member of celebrated Dundee trio Danny Wilson. Who, during the late 80's and early 90 released two albums and seven singles including “Mary’s Prayer” and latterly "I Can't Wait" written by and featuring Kit on lead vocals.
Following the bands demise, in 1991 Kit released the E.P "love dung". The four tracks -"Loren", "Come Back", "Men Without Women" and "Baby No"- all entirely his own compositions, revealed Kit’s absolute splendor as both a writer and solo artist in his own right.
1997 saw his latest ensemble The Swiss Family Orbison release their eponymously titled debut album and the single "I'm in Love". Featuring Kit as key writer, lead vocalist, engineer and producer, the album was met with both critical acclaim and personal accolades including The Manic Street Preachers, Garbage and the late John Peel.
They released their second and final album "Thick as Pop" in 2002 before the band went their separate ways.
Kit continues to write, produce, collaborate and record with a number of artists (including contributions to various compilations).
Akin to his lyrics Kit maintains an uncompromising approach to live performances, usually restricting them to a maximum of 2 per year. (It has been known on occasion they have been announced after the event).
Take this rare opportunity to witness highly emotive lyrics within a wonderfully musical catastrophe with Kit and his band as they performing in an intimate environment.
